At the autumn edition of the VerzamelaarsJaarbeurs-Collector’s Fair November 2008 Jaarbeurs Utrecht:

A mysterious glow at the International Collectors Fair in Utrecht

This November 22nd and 23rd the Jaarbeurs Convention Centre in Utrecht will devoted to the biggest vintage event in Europe. Divided over six halls and two thousand stands, thousands of uniquely different collections will be on view and for sale. This event attracts more visitors every year from all over the world. To find your way around, the halls are divided into special sections featuring Antiques, Books, Toys, Music, Glass, Archaeological finds, Art, Design, Fifties etc.

A mysterious glow of Anna-Green Glass

There will also be a collection of Anna-Green Glass, this glass gives a mysterious glow in a darkroom when lit with the so-called ‘Black Light’ . This is due to the radioactive sand originally used to make the glass. Necklaces, flower vases, medicine bottles and many more diverse items were made with this special sand in the nineteenth century.

Copper engraving by Bertil Schmull

Exclusively for this fair artist Bertil Schmüll will show his fine art of copper engraving. He is one of the last remaining artists in Europe who holds all the techniques of this dying craftsmanship. His surreal and immensely detailed drawings made by cutting out copperplates with steel pens then printed with powerful pressure on paper are on view at the fair. exhibition Rock Art museum

The special exhibitions this time are the collection of the Rock Art museum who are showing hundreds of items from famous Dutch artists including original guitars, stage clothing, golden awards, song lyrics and the stretched limo of Dutch Band Di-Rect. See also: Rockart.nl

Kids Corner

In the Kids-corner Robert van Rhijn (13) will show his Old Techniques collection. Robert is a remarkable boy, he was getting bored with new plastic toys and started collecting old turntables, telephones, film cameras, typewriters etc. He not only knows an incredible amount of fascinating details about these objects, he repairs them as well if necessary.

Dirk Benedict - The A-Team

Last but not least in the Movie and Toy section, actor Dirk Benedict well known from The A-Team and Battlestar Gallectica will be signing pictures for his fans in his special A-Team booth. See also: Dirk Benedict Central
