Dutch Royal Family Special, Pin-Up girls & American Oldtimers

The next edition of the International Collectors fair will take place on April 10 & 11 at the Jaarbeurs convention centre in Utrecht. Two inspired ‘Dutch Royal Family’ collectors will exhibit some of their most beloved and rare items. Betty Page, the well known American pin up queen, is also in the highlight in another exhibition. The Cruise Brothers are going to show 12 of their most beautiful classic american oldtimers. As always millions of rare, antique and vintage items are for sale at the 2000 stands divided over 5 halls.

Dutch Royal Family

Two specialists, who studied the Dutch Royal family for years, also collected thousands of related items. They dived into dynasties, political scandals, national heritage and above all the bling and fascination royal families always seem to have with the public. Long before merchandising was discovered by artists and musicians the Royals realised that bringing out memorabilia was the way to connect with their people. This fascination resulted in a rich collection of ceramic, textile, pottery, royal silver and jewelry which won the Dutch Collector Award 2009. Especially for the fair they will show their most unique items.

Betty Page

Probably the best well known pin-up girl ever: Betty Page (1923-2008), who became famous in the fifties in the last century mostly because of the sexual tension in all her pictures, but she dissapeared for a generation. In the eighties she was rediscovered and became cult when people realised she was enlightning and far ahead of her time in her earliest days. When Madonna named her her biggest inspiration, Betty got quickly a cult status and is now collected all over the world. A special exhibition will show the visitor an intimate look into her rocky life.

American Classics

The Cruise brothers is the name of Hollands largest American Oldtimer club. At the fair they will show their most beautiful cruisers from a period when petrol was cheap and cars were big. From the club-collection of 3500 classics they picked out a Cadillac Convertible (‘with wings who spread out to heaven’), a '58 Betty Boop Caddy and a very special Studebaker Classic. A must see for all car lovers.

The Collector’s Fair remains the best place to meet fellow collectors. The many cosy terraces offer plenty of seating places to show each other your new acquisitions or exchange tips, ideas and gossip. As usual the Collector’s Fair is held in conjunction with the Mega Record & CD Fair. Heaven on earth for lovers of pop music with an enormous choice of records, CDs, DVDs and other pop memorabilia.
